I bartered my soul for a new pair of shoes
Two soles for the price of one
Those wore out by the next week
So I bartered those shoes for the sun
The sun glowed bright, all day and night
And burned a hole in my hand
So, the following day, I bartered away
The sun for a wooden hat stand
Upon which, many a night,
I'd hang, to rest, my hat
But with so much rest, it began to digress
So I bartered the stand for a cat
The cat, named Hector, asked not for too much
So I gave not too much in return
But, as cat's often do, he bid me adieu
And left me a lesson to learn
The very next day, I walked into town
And brought with me my lesson to trade
For my soul to return, though unhappy to learn
My soul was no longer displayed
"Where is it?" asked I, he shortly reminisced
"I believe I threw it away."
I exclaimed "Why?!", he told me that I
Was late, it expired today

Life is to short for regret?
Yet, life is too long to forget.

No problem. :)

Yes, but then we'd just wander around remembering for the rest of our lives, and what's the point in that?

Well, we wouldn't have to worry about new problems when we keep refacing old problems.

But neither seems like a very happy existence to me.
